This course is carried out with the aim to increase knowledge and safety skills when carrying out HV cable pulling in Wind Turbine Environments.  

This training is suitable for both new entrants into the industry and people looking to improve their skills already in the sector. 

Key Learning objectives include: 

  • Safe handling and pulling of HV cables in wind turbine environments

  • Damage identification and inspection during and post-installation

  • Understanding mechanical stresses and appropriate use of tools

  • Awareness of basic electrical field theory related to HV cables

  • Team coordination, communication and role responsibility

  • Risk mitigation and use of PPE and ergonomic practices

  • Final cable loop installation and worksite restoration

Prerequisites: 

  • Good standard of fitness and ideally passed an OGUK or similar medical and Chester Step fitness test.
