The Wind Limited Access training course (GWO Accredited) contains both an onshore and offshore module, which are both provided by The Wind Academy. Both can be carried out independently upon request.  

The Onshore Limited Access course, aims to cover:

  • The required training to allow participants to safely visit an onshore WTG (Wind Turbine Generator) 

  • Hazards, medical emergencies, fire emergencies and safety at heights 

The Offshore Limited Access course, aims to cover: 

  • Boat transfers 

  • Basic Sea Survival 

  • Safety and possible hazards that arise in offshore environments  

This extensive training allows successful participants to visit Onshore or Offshore Wind Turbine Environments under the supervision of 2 experienced GWO – BST qualified individuals. 

Target Audience: 

  • Anybody who infrequently makes site visits onshore or offshore in a Wind Turbine Environment 

Prerequisites: 

  • Good standard of fitness and ideally passed an OGUK or similar medical and Chester Step fitness test. We offer onsite medicals at our Blyth training centre - click here to book this alongside your course

  • Weighing under the maximum of 125kg limit for the safe working load of the working at height equipment
