Prevent, recognise, and respond to fire in one of the most confined and isolated working environments on the planet.
Book this moduleLimited exits, high winds, flammable lubricants, and isolation from emergency services make a turbine fire one of the most serious situations a wind technician can face. Prevention and decisive early response are critical. This GWO module gives you the knowledge and the practical hands-on experience to act with confidence.
You will learn how fire behaves, which extinguisher to reach for, and when the only right answer is evacuation. The module covers turbine-specific hazards, smoke behaviour, and the practical realities of fighting a small fire in a confined nacelle before it becomes unstoppable.
The practical element is delivered in our on-site fire house at Port of Blyth. You will feel the heat, handle live extinguishers, and make decisions under pressure, in the safest possible environment.
Our on-site fire house lets you handle real equipment against real flame, supervised by experienced instructors, so the first time you meet fire isn't on a live site.
Fire Awareness is delivered as part of our combined GWO Basic Safety Training. Join us at the Port of Blyth for training delivered by industry professionals.
