Climb, work, and rescue safely on wind turbine towers. Build the equipment knowledge and rescue capability every offshore tech needs.
Book this moduleA modern offshore turbine can be well over 100 metres tall. Your daily route to work is vertical, and your safety depends on understanding your equipment, your environment, and the rescue options available if something goes wrong. This GWO module is where that understanding is built.
You will inspect and fit a full body harness, learn the difference between work positioning and fall arrest, and develop the skills to rescue a suspended colleague. Training is delivered in our purpose-built Port of Blyth height facility, which replicates real turbine climb systems, ladders, and platforms.
This is the module where theory becomes muscle memory. Expect to spend significant time on the training tower, under trainer supervision, practising scenarios that mirror the situations you will face on a live site.
More than two-thirds of this module is practical. Expect to climb, connect, descend, and rescue until each skill is demonstrated to competence.
Working at Height is delivered as part of our combined GWO Basic Safety Training. Join us at the Port of Blyth for training delivered by industry professionals.
